Autograph letter signed : Grove, Highgate [London], to his nephew Edward, 1826 July 27.

Describing his recent illness: "the excessive Heat was, I doubt not, the principal exciting cause: tho' anxiety and intestine Conflict have been accessories"; noting that his daughter is arriving and is in mourning for her cousin Isabel; admitting that he "had no suspicion of any serious attachment" between his daughter Sara and her cousin Henry Nelson Coleridge; giving his opinion on this attachment and asking Edward "not to breathe even a hint of what [he has] written"; responding to Edward's last letter by describing his current state of mind and the work he is undertaking.
